Captain Noah reels in a sailfish off Sanibel

Posted on Tuesday, July 26, 2016

This past week Captain Noah and his charter guest, Todd Rochleau from Missouri, set out hoping for an exciting day on the water and ended up fulfilling that wish and more!

About four miles south of Sanibel, Todd hooked into this seven foot sailfish using a G. Loomis rod with 30 pound test. The next half hour of getting the fish to the boat were “Awesome!” and “Some of the most exciting fishing I’ve had,” stated Mr. Rochleau.

Captain Noah says catching a sailfish this large and this close to shore is unusual. “I was as excited and happy as my client!” The choice of bait for this sailfish? Threadfin! After the photo op, the fish was released.

The 30 minute fight was memorable and will be a good fish story for years to come. If you’d like to book a charter with Captain Noah, visit or call 239-565-4747.
